Florence Duomo Artisan Tour: Restoration Secrets & Mosaics

1 hour

Easy

Go beneath the postcard image of Florence’s Duomo. Discover the Baptistery, Cathedral, Brunelleschi’s Dome, and Giotto’s Campanile with a local guide. Then delve into a world of craft just outside the Piazza del Duomo.

Reveal the secrets of Florence’s Duomo with your very own private guide.

Meet up with your guide at the Column of St. Zenobius, next to the Baptistery of San Giovanni, learn about the history behind its well-known bronze doors, and proceed to Piazza del Duomo.

Marvel at the facade of Florence’s Cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore, learn about the ingenuity of Brunelleschi’s Dome, and the history of Giotto’s Bell Tower and its artists in one of the most characteristic monuments of Florence.

And then break off from the standard tour circuit.

Right beside the Duomo, there is a little-known world that is linked to Florentine crafts and restoration which has been alive for hundreds of years.

Experience in a small-sized format the combination of Florence Cathedral, the Baptistery, Brunelleschi’s Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Renaissance. If you wish to visit the interior of the Cathedral independently after the tour, your guide will show you where to access the free-entry line. Cathedral admission is free and subject to opening hours and possible waiting times.
